This policy explains what personal information CoffmanHost (“we”, “us”) collects through coffmanhost.com, the CrewPanel control panel at panel.coffmanhost.com, and our hosting services, and how we use it. CoffmanHost is a small US business run by Weldon Coffman.
Information we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, the plan you are interested in, your message, and the IP address you sent it from.
- Customer accounts: your username, email address (for sign-in, password resets, and service notices), and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Content you host: website files, databases, and email stored in your account. This is your data; we only access it to provide, secure, or support the service, or when the law requires it.
- Server logs: like every web server, ours records IP addresses, browser user-agents, requested pages, and timestamps. We use these logs for security (for example, blocking repeated failed logins) and troubleshooting.
- Cookies: we use only essential cookies, such as a session cookie that protects the contact form and keeps you signed in to CrewPanel. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies on coffmanhost.com.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and send quotes.
- To set up, run, secure, and support your hosting account.
- To send service messages such as password resets, security alerts, and billing or renewal notices.
- To meet legal obligations and to prevent abuse of our services.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not send marketing email without your permission.
Who we share it with
We share information only when needed to run the service: for example, with the data-center provider that hosts our servers and DNS, or with a payment processor if you pay online. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our customers, our services, or the public from fraud or abuse. We do not store payment card numbers on our servers.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form messages and account information for as long as needed to respond to you, provide the service, and keep reasonable business records. Server logs are rotated and deleted on a regular schedule. When you close your account, we delete your hosted content within a reasonable period, except where we must keep something for legal reasons.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords, firewalls, and regular security updates. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your account and keep your own backups of important data.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (unless we need to keep it to provide a service you are still using, or for legal reasons). Send your request through the contact form.
Children
Our services are meant for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect customers, we will also let you know by email.
